Our November Seniors Gathering was successfully held on Sunday, 16 November
2025, from 9:30am to 12:30pm at the Merrylands Norrie Maley Kiosk, located at
71 Paton Street, Merrylands West, NSW 2160.
This month’s event welcomed over 80 attendees, creating a warm, lively, and joyful
atmosphere. The gathering began with opening remarks from Daw Ohnmar Khin, Ko
Kyaw Min Maung from The Rising Sun Foundation and several respected elders,
who shared thoughtful messages with the community.
Guests enjoyed a delicious selection of traditional Burmese dishes, including four
varieties of Burmese salad and traditional fish soup. A range of desserts—fresh
fruits, coconut jelly, faluda jelly, and Burmese traditional snacks—were also
served and enjoyed by everyone.
We were honoured to welcome two special guests:
NUG Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung, and
NUG Representative (Australia) Dr. Tun Aung Shwe
Both guests delivered meaningful speeches that inspired and encouraged our
community.
Donations were collected in support of Garden View Nursing Home and BCDC.
This month’s Seniors Gathering was a heartfelt celebration of culture, connection,
and community spirit. We look forward to welcoming everyone again next month.
